Do I need laser protective eyewear?

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

Yes! Not only does eyewear protect your patient from the laser, but it also protects them from other objects and liquids that could make contact with their eyes.

When patients sit in the chair, they can be exposed to so many things that could injure the head, neck, and eyes. Even a handpiece could cause irreversible damage. With a rotation speed of 180,000 to 500,000 times per minute, handpieces could project particles at speeds up to 50 miles per hour. Chemicals, pieces of old filing materials, prophy paste containing silica, or even broken bur could fly into a patient's eye.

Eyewear is an inexpensive way to protect you, your staff, and your patients.

Laser Protective eyewear is used in Medical, Military, Research, Education, and Industrial laser applications. The use of lasers in medical and industrial is advancing, thus, your laser protection must also advance. Laser safety eyewear protects eyes from hazardous reflected or scattered laser light.
